Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Assistant Chef and school cleaner to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in the preparation and presentation of high-quality meals while maintaining a clean and organized kitchen and school environment. We partner with the USDA food program and adhere to strict standards.
Duties
- Assist the Head Chef in preparing meals according to established recipes and standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including proper storage of food items and equipment.
- Perform commercial cleaning tasks to ensure all kitchen and school areas meet health and safety regulations.
- Support with facilities maintenance, including end of day classroom cleaning and common area upkeep.
- Assist Head Chef with USDA duties.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service during peak hours.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a kitchen environment is preferred but not required; a willingness to learn is essential.
- Knowledge of cleaning practices, including cleaning techniques and custodial duties.
- Ability to maintain a clean workspace while adhering to food safety guidelines.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Must be able to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- A passion for cooking and an eagerness to develop culinary skills further.
