Full-time Contract Position – Hagerstown, MD

The Position
As an Aircraft Inspector IV, you will be using your skills and expertise to inspect our aircraft, aircraft systems, equipment, and parts to ensure airworthiness and conformance to the manufacturer's specifications and government regulations. You'll be responsible for identifying any breach of standards for airworthiness. Your inspection authority will include all in-process inspections, all final inspections, and approval for return to service of all work. This is a one year contract position.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive inspections of aircraft, aircraft systems, equipment, and components to ensure airworthiness and compliance with FAA regulations and manufacturer specifications
- Approve all in-process and final inspections, including return-to-service authorizations for completed work
- Identify and document any discrepancies, defects, or breaches of airworthiness standards during routine and non-routine inspections
- Conduct thorough quality audits and utilize inspection processes to ensure aircraft integrity and operational safety
- Review and interpret engineering drawings, maintenance manuals, and service bulletins to verify inspection standards
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and maintenance teams to resolve technical discrepancies and promote regulatory compliance
- Handle the inspection of aircraft modifications and first article components as needed
- Maintain accurate inspection logs, documentation, and records per FAA and organizational standards
- Monitor and ensure compliance with hazardous materials handling and safety-sensitive protocols
- Adhere to all environmental and occupational safety guidelines while working in noisy, physically demanding, and outdoor environments
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior inspectors and maintenance personnel when necessary
- Stay current with FAA regulations, industry standards, and company procedures relevant to aircraft inspection and maintenance
Supervisory Responsibilities
- No immediate direct reports
Skills & Qualifications
- Active, current Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification
- Advanced knowledge of aircraft, aircraft systems, equipment and parts
- Thorough understanding and experience with the practical application of product audit and inspection processes and procedures
- Basic Microsoft Office Suite skills (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel)
Preferred Experience
- Understanding of 14 CFR Chapter 1
- Thorough understanding of civil or government aviation inspection operations and/or FAA Repair Station operations Inspection Authorization (IA) Designation
- Experience with first article inspections
- Prior experience with aircraft modifications Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense or US Military
Work Environment
- On-site, Full time position located in Hagerstown, Maryland
- 1 year contract position
Compensation
- Position offers an hourly W2 Rate between $50 - $52, with additional benefits

- Because this client is a Federal Government Contractor performing services for the DoD, US Air Force, NASA and others, they do require US, Non-Dual Citizenship
