Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Animal Care Attendant to join our team. This role is essential in providing high-quality care for a variety of animals, ensuring their well-being and comfort. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal welfare and the ability to handle different species with care and respect.
Duties
- Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, cleaning, grooming, and exercising.
- Maintain clean and safe living environments for all animals.
- Monitor animal health and behavior, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff.
- Handle animals safely using proper techniques.
- Engage with animals through play and socialization to promote their mental well-being.
- Support the training of animals as needed, reinforcing positive behaviors.
- Perform heavy lifting tasks related to animal care, including moving supplies and equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of animal care activities and health observations.
Qualifications
- Experience in pet care or animal handling is preferred, including dog/cat handling and pet sitting.
- Strong understanding of animal behavior.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks associated with animal care duties.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- A genuine love for animals and commitment to their welfare.
- Must pass a background check.
- Starting wage based upon experience.
