The SPCA of Northeastern North Carolina is dedicated to the welfare of animals in our community. We provide shelter, care, and adoption services for homeless animals, and we strive to promote responsible pet ownership. We are looking for two compassionate and dedicated Animal Care Technicians to join our team and help us make a difference in the lives of animals.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, medicating, grooming, and exercising.
- Handle and restrain animals safely during examinations and treatments.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of animal enclosures and clinic areas.
- Assist with assessments and record keeping.
- Communicate effectively with community members and volunteers
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and provide excellent customer service
Required Skills/Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Willing to clean and handle organic material.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Comfortable and confident handling both dogs and cats.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to interact professionally and empathetically with the public.
- Available to work weekends and weekdays.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with animals in a shelter, veterinary clinic, or similar environment.
- Ability to regularly lift/carry 50 pounds may be required.
