Schedule: Tuesday – Saturday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Must be available to work Sundays and holidays as needed

_ Job Description_
As an Animal Welfare Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the well-being of the cats and dogs in our care. You’ll support the daily operation of our rescue through hands-on animal care, volunteer guidance, adoption coordination, and organizational upkeep.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assist with the intake, daily care, and adoption of dogs and cats
- Maintain a clean, safe, and enriching environment
- Monitor and guide volunteers to ensure consistent care and safety protocols
- Support our Social Media Manager by helping capture photos and stories to aid adoptions
- Learn and assess animal temperaments and behavior to assist with placement
- Maintain accurate and detailed digital records (medical, behavioral, adoption tracking)

Clear communication, thinking ahead, and taking ownership of tasks are critical. Even small decisions can have a substantial impact on the animals in our care and the people we serve.
The ideal candidate is someone who stays engaged, asks thoughtful questions, and takes initiative when it's needed.
Must Have:
- Experience working directly with both cats and dogs
- Comfort using Windows, Android, and iPhone platforms
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Passion for bettering the lives of animals and the community
- Reliable transportation to and from work
Preferred Experience:
- Familiarity with ShelterLuv or other animal management software
- Basic animal medical knowledge (e.g., administering meds, post-op care)
- Customer service or adoption counseling
- Volunteer coordination
- Animal behavioral evaluation or rehabilitation
- Animal record keeping
- Cleaning/sanitation in animal care environments
