Job Title: Anodizing Supervisor – 2nd Shift
Reports To: Anodizing Manager
Schedule: Monday – Friday 3:00pm to 11:30pm

We distribute, fabricate and finish (anodize and paint) aluminum and other products primarily for the commercial construction market. We are currently hiring an Anodizing Supervisor at our facility in Redding, California.
SUMMARY
Supervisor for Redding’s Anodizing department on 2nd shift. This position is responsible for organizing and supervising production activities. This position reports to the Anodizing Manager and provides leadership to second shift including the following responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1) Responsible for productivity, quality, and safety of Anodizing department on second shift.
2) Supervises racking, packing and anodizing activities.
3) Enforces safe work practices in conformity with company policies.
4) Manages housekeeping effort in the Anodizing department to 5S standards.
5) Follows priorities according to operational schedules.
6) Organizes and directs work.
7) Complies with environmental regulations.
8) Knowledge and understanding of required safety equipment and its proper usage. Always wear your PPE when required.
9) Monitors jobs to ensure quality and fulfillment of specifications.
10) Trains personnel upon hire and when changing positions.
11) Takes disciplinary action as necessary.
12) Takes part in review process for direct reports.
13) Recommends improvements, changes, or new techniques and procedures.
14) Is flexible and performs various other duties as required by the Anodizing Manager.
Required Skills
1) Proven performance in leading a team to meet production requirements.
2) Ability to read and interpret production instructions and workplace graphics such as detailed schedule reports, part drawings, forms, tables, graphs, diagrams, maps or instrument gages. Supervisor must be able to:
a. Summarize information from one or more detailed graphics.
b. Identify trends shown in one or more detailed or complicated graphics.
c. Compare information and trends from one or more complicated graphics.
3) Ability to develop in-line quality measurements, interpret statistical data and understand Statistical Process Control.
4) Ability to read, write and understand English including:
a. Author narrative reports via email and use our Sharepoint forums.
b. Understand acronyms, paraphrased definitions of a technical term, and industry jargon.
c. Apply technical terms and jargon and relate them to new situations.
d. Apply complex instructions that include conditionals to situations described in the materials.
e. Interpret and apply company policies and safety regulations.
5) Ability to participate in production and safety meetings and innovate using process thinking and continuous improvement.
6) At least four years of experience in a manufacturing environment
7) Must be available for necessary overtime.
8) Understanding of continuous improvement principles.
9) Ability to interpret company policies and enforce safety regulations.
10) Math Skills as follows:
a. Decide what information, calculations, or unit conversions to use to solve the problem.
b. Look up a formula and perform single-step conversions within or between systems of measurement. For example convert centimeters to inches.
c. Calculate using mixed units (e.g., 3.5 hours and 4 hours 30 minutes)
d. Find the best deal using one- and two-step calculations and then compare results.
e. Calculate lineal dimensions, perimeters and areas from fabrication drawings calling on Algebra or Geometry skills.
f. Calculate percent discounts or markups.
11) General computer navigation skills.
12) Able to become certified in forklift operation.
13) Ability to resolve employee conflicts, problems and complaints.
14) Score of 5 or better in the following WorkKeys Assessments: Applied Mathematics and Reading for Information.
Preferred Skills
1) Working knowledge of anodizing and quality control
2) Previous supervisory experience
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Four years related industrial experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Good listening skills are prerequisite. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, extreme cold, and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
All SAF facilities are tobacco and drug free.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $24.00 - $25.50 per hour
