- Seeking Arborist or aspiring Arborist to be mentored by Board Certified Master Arborist. Great opportunity for someone seeking a Management track position in the Arboriculture field, with Environmental Science, Horticulture, Urban Forestry, or similar degree.
- Individual must be willing and able to study for and pass the ISA certified Arborist exam within the first 60 days of employment, and also immediately pass the Pesticide applicator test. Salary commensurate with education and experience.
- Strong Customer service with professional demeanor, visual presentation, and manner of speaking. Comfortable verbally and an in writing, notifying customers of services performed, reasons, and methods. Answer customers’ general questions about their property’s landscape health. You will be expected to be friendly and helpful to customers at all times.
- Evaluate plant health by correctly identifying specimen, detect disease/irregularities for species, or recognize signs of bug/pest infestation.
- Apply correct pesticides and organic material, at proper rate. Understand the potential risks and benefits of a particular type of pesticide and ensure that the pesticide they are applying will not have adverse effects on the surrounding environment.
- Maintain soil conditions through soil amendments, and also identify drainage issues, overwatering, poor species selection. Perform soil testing as needed to ensure correct pH for type of tree.
- Maintain records of services provided, chemicals and rates used. Update tree inventory records for each property as they are added or removed.
- Drive truck; CDL not required, but clean driving record is necessary, as company vehicle will be driving daily. Ensure basic maintenance is performed, and gas tank is full for daily use.
- Must be able to physically perform necessary duties including pulling-hose, squeezing nozzle, and walking long-distances on a daily basis to service large properties with significant acreage.
- Must be able to perform physical labor in varying New Jersey weather conditions, approximately 40 degrees to 100 degrees for prolonged periods of time.
- Individual must work with diligent focus, timeliness/efficiency, confidence and enthusiasm, be self-motivated, adaptable, and be a flexible team player.
- Maintain clean and orderly truck, garage, and tools.
