We are currently seeking an Archaeological Technician/ Monitor for work in San Francisco that is currently underway. New employees could start as early as April 1st. Monitoring will be Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM to 2:30 PM and will continue for several months.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Must meet minimum SOI qualifications in Archaeology:
- A graduate degree in archeology, anthropology, or closely related field plus:
1. At least one year of full-time professional experience or equivalent specialized training in archeological research, administration, or management;
2. At least four months of supervised field and analytic experience in general North American archeology, and
3. Demonstrated ability to carry research to completion.
In addition to these minimum qualifications, a professional in prehistoric archeology shall have at least one year of full-time professional experience at a supervisory level in the study of archeological resources of the prehistoric period. A professional in historic archeology shall have at least one year of full-time professional experience at a supervisory level in the study of archeological resources of the historic period.
- A graduate degree in archeology, anthropology, or closely related field plus:
- A field school or commensurate California or Nevada CRM field experience (e.g., survey, precontact and historic-era site identification/documentation/data collection, excavation, and familiarity with standard electronic devices and hand-held tools).
- Detail-oriented, able to adapt to varying data collection needs, attention to field methods/pace, and effective in verbal and written communication.
- Willingness to learn/refine new skills on-the-job.
- Ability to collaboratively interact with clients, Native American representatives, and co-workers.
- Can comply with Far Western’s Safety Program and other Far Western training and operations protocols.
- Must have daily transportation to jobsite in San Francisco.
ADDITIONAL PREFERRED SKILLS
- Current First Aid/CPR training/certifications.
- Basic compass, map, GPS navigation skills.
- Experience working outdoors in variable weather conditions and different types of environments.
