Location: Laurel Hill School
Employment Type: Full-Time (September-June, 10 months)
Salary: 10-month contract $40,000-$45,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic Art Teacher to join our team at The Laurel Hill School. In this role, you will inspire creativity and self-expression among students from Pre-K through 8th Grade, contributing to their overall development in a nurturing educational setting.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver a rich, developmentally appropriate visual arts curriculum that fosters creativity, skill development, and personal expression
- Teach a variety of media and techniques, including (but not limited to) drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, collage, and mixed media
- Organize and display student artwork throughout the school and coordinate exhibits such as an annual art show or contributions to community events
- Integrate art projects with other areas of the curriculum to support interdisciplinary learning
- Provide individual and group instruction that adapts to diverse learning styles and abilities
- Maintain an organized, inspiring, and safe studio space with appropriate care of tools and materials
- Collaborate with faculty to support school events and productions where visual arts may contribute (e.g., stage sets, posters, festival decor)
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate regularly with families
- Participate fully in faculty meetings, school duties, and ongoing professional development
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Art Education or related field preferred.
- Experience working with children in an educational setting, familiarity with child development and working knowledge progressive educational practices is essential
- Strong behavior management skills to maintain a conducive classroom environment.
- Familiarity with learning technology that can enhance the art curriculum is a plus.
- Ability to work collaboratively with parents and staff to support student growth.
