Overview
Gausnell, O'Keefe & Thomas LLC is a medium-sized civil defense law firm located in Lafayette Square in St. Louis, Missouri. The firm is seeking candidates to join our Asbestos Department. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated with strong communication, organizational, research, analytical and writing skills. The associate can expect to be involved in all aspects of file workup including taking depositions, attending court hearings, and preparing pleadings, among other responsibilities as they arise.
Responsibilities
- Draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, and agreements.
- Prepare correspondence to clients, attorneys, and other parties.
- Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations relevant to practice areas.
- Collaborate with other attorneys and legal professionals to strategize case approaches.
- Manage case files and maintain accurate records of all client interactions.
- Attend depositions and court hearings.
- Other responsibilities as they arise.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the Missouri Bar.
- Admission to the Illinois Bar.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
