Position Overview
The Foreman is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all on-site operations of asphalt repair, paving, sealcoating and striping projects. This role involves leading the crew, managing schedules and resources, ensuring safety compliance, and delivering high-quality workmanship. The Foreman acts as a key communicator between field crew, clients, and management.
Key Responsibilities
1) Crew Supervision
- Assign daily tasks to crew members and monitor their progress.
- Ensure all team members understand and follow project specifications and safety protocols.
- Provide on-the-job coaching and mentoring, fostering a positive team environment.
2) Project Planning & Logistics
- Coordinate project schedules, including labor, materials, and equipment needs.
- Manage daily and weekly work plans, adjusting schedules as needed to accommodate weather, material availability, or client requests.
- Coordinate material deliveries and equipment rentals to ensure timely project completion.
3) Quality Control
- Oversee the quality of asphalt repair, paving, sealcoating, and striping work to meet or exceed expectations.
- Inspect completed tasks for compliance with project specifications and promptly address any issues or deficiencies.
4) Safety Compliance
- Conduct regular safety briefings or toolbox talks, covering potential hazards and proper use of equipment and materials.
- Investigate and document any accidents or near-misses, implementing corrective measures to prevent future incidents.
5) Communication
- Serve as the main on-site contact for clients, addressing questions and providing updates on project status.
- Communicate effectively with management regarding project progress, challenges, and resource needs.
6) Problem-Solving & Decision-Making
- Identify on-site challenges (e.g., unexpected weather or site conditions) and quickly implement solutions to keep projects on track.
- Adjust schedules and crew assignments as needed to resolve bottlenecks or address project changes.
7) Recordkeeping & Reporting
- Track daily job site activities, including labor hours, materials used, and equipment utilization.
- Assist with billing or invoicing information by providing clear records of completed work.
8) Maintenance & Equipment Oversight
- Monitor the condition of all equipment, scheduling preventive maintenance or repairs as necessary.
- Ensure all tools and machinery are used correctly and safely by crew members.
Minimum Qualifications
- At least 5+ years’ experience in asphalt repair/paving or a closely related construction field.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Vocational training in construction or paving technology is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
