Our company is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to join the business unit at our Davenport, IA facility.
Role Overview:
The Davenport Assistant Controller is responsible for financial planning & analysis (FP&A), compliance, and location accounting activities while fostering business partnerships across the plant. The role will oversee financial operations at three satellite manufacturing facilities in addition to Davenport.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly financial forecasts and weekly forecast updates.
- Analyze financial, operational, and commercial performance results.
- Compile monthly and quarterly reporting packages for senior management.
- Oversee month-end closing, account reconciliations, and inter-location coordination.
- Provide support for capital appropriation requests.
- Analyze plant spending and lead cost management initiatives.
- Track and report on cost savings projects.
- Lead financial analysis and process development for special projects.
- Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley internal controls.
- Provide decision support on expenses, capital justifications, and investment analysis.
- Implement process improvements and cost reduction strategies.
- Train, mentor, and develop the Finance Team.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- B.S. degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited institution.
- 7+ years of finance experience within a publicly traded manufacturing corporation.
- Recent exp. in Aviation or Defense.
- Strong background in manufacturing and cost accounting.
- Direct supervisory experience.
- Proven track record in plant-wide process improvements, such as inventory reductions, cost control, and forecast accuracy improvements.
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA (a plus).
- More than 5 years of Finance/Accounting experience.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Self-motivated with excellent analytical abilities.
- Experience with database querying.
- Background in cost accounting.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
