Job Summary

The Assistant Dean is responsible for providing the vision, strategic direction, and administrative support of the sorority and fraternity community. Through the supervision of multiple full-time staff and graduate assistants, the Assistant Dean will develop comprehensive programs and services that support and engage chapters divided among the College Panhellenic Council, Interfraternity Council, National Pan-Hellenic Council, and United Greek Council. The Assistant Dean will liaise with campus and community partners, chapter advisors, inter/national headquarters staff, parents/families, and faculty/staff/students as a representative of the University and Dean of Students Office. The Assistant Dean will demonstrate an openness to connect with students and campus/community partners to support a diverse, equitable, and inclusive sorority and fraternity community.

Salary Rate / Pay Rate

$65,000 - $68,000 annual

Required Qualifications

  1. Master's degree conferred prior to start date.
  2. Five or more years of full-time work experience advising and providing administrative support to student organizations at an institution of higher education, with knowledge of sororities and fraternities.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Master's degree in higher education, college student personnel administration, counseling, or a related field.

Work Hours

Core Hours: 8:00am-4:30pm Monday through Friday with frequent evenings and weekends

Functional Expectations

Must be able to complete the following with or without reasonable accommodation:

  1. Effectively communicate on a daily basis.
  2. Remain at a workstation for extended periods.
  3. Move about in various locations across campus as needed to complete day-to-day work.

The Civil Service examination for this classification is based on your application materials and responses to the supplemental questions. No participation other than submission of applicant materials is required from applicants that qualify to take the exam. If you meet the minimum required qualifications for this position, you will receive a score calculated based on your education and experience, and your name will be placed on the active employment register by exam score.
