POSITION: Assistant Director, Pittsburgh Media Partnership

REPORTS TO: Director & Teaching Editor, Next Generation Newsroom
WORK SCHEDULE: On campus
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Day-to-day management of the Pittsburgh Media Partnership and editing to its affiliated newsroom.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to bring together multiple stakeholders for a common cause to deliver results
- Excellent news judgement and editing skills
- Deep knowledge of the journalism industry
- Experience leading a team within a newsroom preferred
- Ability to adeptly manage and deliver multiple projects on deadline
- Experience working with college-age students
- Strong leadership and management skills
- Ability to lead and organize small-scale events
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for day-to-day operation of the Pittsburgh Media Partnership and its activities, which include but are not limited to - monthly partner calls and monthly advisory board meetings.
- Able to work with newsroom leaders to help execute a vision for programming, collaborative reporting, and capacity building among partner outlets.
- Organize and lead events designed to give partners greater exposure, support the cause of local journalism, and engage the public in creating journalistic content.
- Manage the physical space at the Pittsburgh Downtown Media Hub to ensure shared resources are available to all.
- Suggest and edit stories produced by the newsroom.
