Position Summary
The Assistant Food and Beverage (F&B) Service Director supports the F&B Service Director in managing the day-to-day operations of all front-of-house dining and bar services at Idle Hour Country Club. This hands-on leadership role ensures a high level of service is consistently delivered across all outlets, including à la carte dining, bar service, and events. The ideal candidate is an organized, member-focused leader with a passion for hospitality, team development, and operational excellence.
Primary Responsibilities
Daily Operations Support
- Assist in overseeing dining room, bar, lounge, and poolside service operations to ensure a seamless member experience.
- Monitor floor activity during peak service times, stepping in to resolve issues and ensure service standards are met.
- Support daily opening and closing procedures, ensuring readiness, cleanliness, and consistency in service presentation.
- Communicate effectively with the kitchen, beverage, and events teams to ensure coordination and accuracy.
Team Supervision and Development
- Supervise front-line service staff, including scheduling, assigning sections, and monitoring performance.
- Assist with the onboarding and continuous training of staff to reinforce service expectations and club standards.
- Deliver pre-shift meetings, coach staff on the floor, and support ongoing professional development.
- Serve as an approachable and visible leader during shifts, offering feedback and support in real-time.
Member and Guest Service
- Maintain a consistent presence on the floor to engage with members, address concerns, and gather feedback.
- Uphold a standard of warm, anticipatory, and personalized service.
- Resolve member issues or complaints in a prompt, professional, and solutions-oriented manner.
Administrative and Financial Support
- Assist in monitoring labor costs, inventory levels, and daily financial reporting.
- Help track and manage par levels for supplies and ensure proper use of club resources.
- Contribute to PMIX and service trend analysis to improve menu knowledge and team execution.
Event Support
- Support the F&B Service Director and Events Team in the execution of weddings, golf outings, private parties, and club events.
- Supervise FOH setup, service, and breakdown to maintain consistency and quality standards.
- Help coordinate event staffing and ensure readiness of event spaces.
Compliance and Safety
- Ensure staff adherence to club policies, health codes, sanitation standards, and responsible alcohol service.
- Assist with inspections and help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment throughout the club.
Innovation and Service Improvements
- Identify service gaps or operational inefficiencies and propose solutions to enhance the member experience.
- Stay current on service trends, member preferences, and hospitality best practices.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in food and beverage management, preferably in a private club or upscale dining environment.
- Strong floor presence with the ability to lead by example.
- Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and maintain composure under pressure.
- Working knowledge of Jonas POS systems, inventory processes, and basic financial reporting.
- Commitment to continuous improvement, hospitality excellence, and team development.

Pay: From $65,000.00 per year
