Job Summary:
The Assistant Manager will support the General Manager in overseeing daily operations at Enzo’s Pizzeria, delivering high-quality food, exceptional customer service, and efficient management. Responsibilities include food preparation, opening/closing procedures, inventory and waste management, shift coverage, and handling customer interactions, including resolving complaints. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with a passion for food and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Food Preparation: Prepare dough, sauces, toppings, and menu items following Enzo’s recipes and quality standards, adhering to food safety and hygiene protocols.
- Opening/Closing Procedures: Perform opening and closing duties, such as setting up equipment, managing cash registers, cleaning the store, and securing the premises.
- Inventory & Waste Management: Track inventory levels, order supplies, and conduct stock checks. Reduce waste through effective portion control and monitoring of perishables.
- Shift Coverage: Cover team member shifts as needed, including taking orders, preparing food, and assisting customers.
- Customer Service: Deliver exceptional service by greeting customers, taking orders accurately, and ensuring a welcoming environment. Maintain a positive attitude under pressure to enhance customer satisfaction.
- Customer Complaint Resolution: Address customer concerns promptly and professionally, listening actively to understand issues, offering solutions (e.g., replacements, refunds, or discounts per company policy), and following up to ensure satisfaction. Escalate complex issues to the General Manager when necessary.
- Team Support: Assist in training and supervising staff, ensuring compliance with company policies and fostering a collaborative, positive workplace.
- Operational Efficiency: Support the General Manager in maintaining equipment, scheduling staff, and optimizing processes to meet business objectives.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to health, safety, and sanitation regulations, including proper food handling and workplace safety standards.
Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of supervisory experience in a food service setting, ideally in a pizzeria or fast-paced restaurant.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, inventory management, and food safety practices.
- Proven ability to deliver excellent customer service and resolve complaints effectively.
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and willingness to cover shifts.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills to guide a small team and interact with customers.
- Familiarity with POS systems and basic inventory software.
- High school diploma or equivalent; food safety certifications (e.g., ServSafe) preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in a fast-paced, high-temperature environment.
- Comfortable with repetitive tasks like dough prep, chopping, and cleaning.
