The Position
Reporting to the Director of Athletics and Head Men’s Soccer Coach, this part time non-benefitted position is responsible for assisting in all facets of our soccer programs. In addition to soccer technique and tactics teaching/coaching, duties include development of student-athletes and recruitment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assists the head coach in the college’s efforts to foster the athletic development of student-athletes within our soccer programs.
o Individual, small group and team skills training
o Individual, small group and team tactics teaching/coaching
- Assists the head coach in the college’s efforts to foster the academic success of student-athletes within the program.
o Meets with student-athletes individually to insure academic accountability
o Provides counsel to help student-athletes navigate the rigors of collegiate academic work
o Develops and articulates a working knowledge of on and on campus support services available
- Assists the head coach in the college’s efforts to foster the personal growth of student-athletes within each program.
o Develops and articulates a working knowledge of on and on campus student-health support services available
o Meets with student-athletes on an as needed basis
- Assists the head coach in executing an active college community relations program leading to the positive promotion of each soccer program and their respective student athletes.
- Represents the Department and Student Affairs Division in the College Community, developing relationships conducive to program and departmental success.
- Participates in our efforts to recruit qualified student-athletes for our soccer programs.
- Serves as a manager for selected athletic events. Carries out other duties as assigned by the Head soccer Coach and/or the Director of Athletics.
Education, Experience, Skills, and Abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- One to three years of intercollegiate participation or coaching experience at an NCAA sponsored institution.
- CPR certified preferred.
