Job Overview
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Superintendent Assistant to support the day-to-day operations of MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) projects. This role will work closely with the Superintendent to ensure the smooth and efficient execution of construction projects, including the coordination of workers, materials, and schedules. The ideal candidate will have a background in construction or MEP systems and a strong willingness to learn and contribute to project success.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Superintendent in overseeing daily site operations for MEP-related tasks.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to ensure materials are delivered and work is completed on time.
- Maintain project documentation, including daily logs, progress reports, and safety records.
- Help manage on-site staff, ensuring adherence to safety regulations and quality standards.
- Monitor project schedules and update the Superintendent on progress or potential delays.
- Assist in reviewing MEP plans and specifications to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Conduct regular site inspections to support the Superintendent in identifying any issues or safety hazards.
- Communicate with project managers and other stakeholders to provide updates and address any concerns.
- Help with the preparation of project budgets, purchase orders, and change orders as necessary.
- Ensure all required tools, equipment, and materials are available for the team.
- Assist in resolving technical issues related to MEP systems on-site.
- Perform other administrative and operational tasks as required by the Superintendent.
Requirements:
- Prior experience in construction or MEP-related roles preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic knowledge of MEP systems, construction processes, or willingness to learn.
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; relevant certifications in construction, MEP systems, or a related field is a plus.
- OSHA certification or willingness to obtain one.
