Assistant Store Manager
Overview
As the store’s on‑the‑floor captain, the Assistant Store Manager drives daily sales, elevates every customer interaction, and keeps operations running smoothly. Acting as the eyes and ears for the Multi‑Unit Store Leader, you spot opportunities, surface problems fast, and resolve what you can in the moment. Your blend of sales focus, service excellence, and decisive action ensures both customers and associates have a seamless, high‑energy experience—whether or not the Store Leader is on site.
Key Responsibilities
1. Customer Experience & Sales Performance
- Lead the customer journey from greeting to checkout; model high‑touch service and product expertise.
- Set and track individual selling goals; coach in real time to boost conversion, UPT, and repeat visits.
- Own the clienteling program; capture customer data, drive outreach, and maintain follow‑up cadence.
2. Team Leadership & Store Culture
- Create a customer-first selling mindset within the team that meets daily sales targets and embodies brand values.
- Provide in‑the‑moment feedback, celebrate wins, and address performance or attendance issues promptly.
- Delegate tasks by business need, ensuring coverage at cash wrap, fitting rooms, and sales floor hotspots.
3. Operations, Inventory & Issue Resolution
- Execute floor sets, product flow, and visual standards to maximize sell-through and presentation.
- Perform transfers, cycle counts, and RTVs to maintain <1 % shrink and impeccable inventory accuracy.
- Monitor KPIs, scheduling, and controllable expenses; escalate trends or obstacles to the Store Leader while swiftly fixing what’s within your control.
Qualifications
- 2-4 years of specialty or premium retail sales
- Proven success exceeding sales goals in a client‑focused environment.
- Strong business acumen—comfortable reading KPIs, maintaining schedules, and controlling shrink.
- Skilled at recruiting, coaching, and holding a team accountable for results.
- Experience with inventory management and visual merchandising standards.
- Clear communicator who thrives in fast‑changing, problem‑solving settings.
- Able to lift up to 40 lbs. and work a flexible schedule (nights, weekends, holidays).
