Moreau Catholic High School, a coeducational high school in the Holy Cross tradition, is currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Associate Campus Minister.
Founded in 1965 under the sponsorship of the Congregation of Holy Cross, Moreau Catholic High School emphasizes college-preparatory excellence in all programs designed to facilitate the informative, formative, and transformative needs of the individual student. Located approximately 25 miles southeast of San Francisco, in Hayward, California, the school is accredited by the Western Catholic Educational Association (WCEA) and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). With approximately 800 students, the co-educational student body reflects the rich ethnic and cultural diversity of the Bay Area, and the school has enjoyed a 99% collegiate matriculation. Our graduating seniors have been accepted into 1,000+ universities and colleges yearly, and have garnered, on average, between $11-14 million in scholarships and grants.
Position Summary:
Reporting to the Director of Campus Ministry, the Associate Campus Minister supports the spiritual, liturgical, service, and educational life of the school community in accordance with Catholic teaching and the mission of Moreau Catholic, a Holy Cross school. In collaboration with the Director of Campus Ministry and the Theology Department, this position fosters a vibrant and inclusive faith environment for students through retreats, worship, Christian service, teaching, and digital engagement. The role includes a classroom teaching component within the Theology Department, contributing directly to students' faith formation and understanding of Catholic tradition.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning and leading school-wide liturgies, prayer services, and sacramental events (e.g., Reconciliation, Eucharistic Adoration).
- Organize and facilitate student retreats, including overnight and day experiences for each grade level.
- Provide pastoral presence and spiritual guidance to students and staff.
Promote and mentor student participation in liturgical ministries (e.g., lectors, altar servers, musicians). - Support and help coordinate Immersions, Christian service programs, and mission-based outreach.
- Assist with student faith formation opportunities such as faith-sharing, small groups, seasonal devotions, and justice-based discussions.
- Collaborate with the school chaplain, faculty, and administration to integrate faith into all aspects of school life.
- Engage families and the broader school community in campus ministry activities through communications and events.
- Contribute to vocation awareness efforts, encouraging students to explore God’s call in their lives.
Technology Responsibilities and Qualifications:
- Utilize digital platforms (Google Workspace, Canva, Microsoft Office, etc.) for communication, presentations, and event planning.
- Maintain and update campus ministry content on the school's website and internal communication platforms.
- Use social media creatively and appropriately to promote ministry events and share faith content.
- Support or lead live streaming of liturgies or virtual prayer services when needed.
- Manage event RSVPs, service hours, and retreat registrations using school software or online tools.
- Comfortable with audiovisual tools, basic graphic design, and digital storytelling to enhance student engagement.
General Qualifications:
- Practicing Catholic in good standing, with a strong understanding of Catholic doctrine, liturgy, and spirituality.
- Bachelor’s degree in Theology, Religious Studies, Pastoral Ministry, or related field.
- Prior experience in Catholic youth ministry, high school campus ministry, or parish leadership.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Demonstrated ability to relate well to high school students and foster their spiritual growth.
- Willingness to work some evenings, weekends, and attend overnight retreats or trips.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Music ministry skills (instrumental or vocal).
- Experience with service-learning, social justice education, or mission trips.
Salary Range (Annual): $63,836-$69,755
