Job Details:
SUMMARY: To lead and direct a team of food safety and quality assurance professionals to develop, implement, and verify food safety quality systems for the Tyson Prepared Foods division. This position is a key member of the prepared foods FSQA team and is centered around ensuring current Prepared Foods procedures and policies are being adhered to ensure brand protection by leading food safety solutions, achieving regulatory compliance and meeting customer expectations to contribute to the success of the business unit. This requires overseeing plant FSQA teams to analyze trends in quality deviations and prescribing solutions; establishing protocols for internal audits of facilities. Responsibilities include reviewing, distributing, and revising FSQA procedures for your processing facilities, staffing, and evaluating data information and making decisions to ship or hold product that is being questioned. Responsibilities also include reviewing and ensuring compliance of all applicable government food regulations; interacting with regulatory authorities and health departments both proactively and reactively as needed, consulting and conferring with customers and consumers on specification requirements questions and or concerns; performing other responsibilities as the need arises.
Key deliverables include leading safety culture within FSQA, achieving pathogen control standards, reduction in foreign material potentials, regulatory compliance, adherence to product specifications and meeting customer expectations, budget adherence and business development objectives. Successful candidate will have a demonstrated history of performance with like- business units. Additionally, the candidate will need to establish relationships with business partners including operations, sales, R&D, corporate and plant FSQA teams and numerous other collaborators within Tyson Foods.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Education: BS Degree or equivalent in an academic field directed to and essential to the job is preferred.
- Experience: 7 plus years Combination of Education and work experience.
- Computer Skills: Advanced computer skills information system knowledge and SAP skills required.
- Communication: Demonstration of excellent written and verbal communication skills within business.
- Supervisory: Supervisory experience for diversified team while managing BU labeling projects.
