Primary Purpose
To monitor and enforce student attendance compliance in accordance with Texas Education Code (TEC), support at-risk students by reducing truancy and improving school attendance, and work collaboratively with school personnel, families, and community agencies to identify and remove barriers to regular school attendance.
This position is funded through State Compensatory Education and is designated to provide direct services to students identified as at risk of dropping out of school.

Qualifications
Education/Certification:
- Master’s degree in Educational Leadership or related field from an accredited college or university
- Valid Texas Principal or Mid-Management Certification
- Valid Texas driver’s license with a good driving record
- Thorough knowledge of Texas attendance laws and SCE guidelines, including TEC §25.091 and TEC §29.081
- Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to implement systems for tracking and improving student attendance
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to analyze student data, identify attendance trends, and develop intervention strategies
- Knowledge of family dynamics, dropout prevention strategies, and community resource coordination
- Proficiency in using student information systems and relevant software platforms
- Minimum of three years of experience in campus or district-level administration
- Experience working with at-risk student populations and/or in attendance or dropout prevention initiatives
- Demonstrated success in improving student attendance and academic outcomes through targeted interventions
Direct Student Services (Required for SCE Funding Eligibility):
- Identify students who are at risk of dropping out due to poor attendance and provide direct support and interventions.
- Conduct home visits and parent conferences to identify causes of absenteeism and help families resolve attendance issues.
- Monitor attendance records of at-risk students on a weekly basis; maintain accurate documentation of contacts and interventions.
- Serve as a liaison between schools, families, and community services to support student attendance and academic success.
- Develop attendance improvement plans in collaboration with students, families, and school personnel.
- Coordinate with school counselors, dropout prevention specialists, and intervention teams to develop targeted strategies for re-engaging chronically absent students.
- Enforce the Texas compulsory attendance laws as outlined in the Texas Education Code (TEC §25.085, §25.091).
- Prepare documentation for truancy prevention and court proceedings and testify in attendance hearings as needed.
- Maintain knowledge of laws, policies, and procedures related to student attendance and SCE program requirements.
- Work collaboratively with campus administrators and teachers to identify and monitor students in need of attendance support.
- Report weekly attendance trends and patterns to campus leadership to guide SCE program planning and resource allocation.
- Coordinate with community agencies that provide support services to at-risk students and their families.
