Job Description:
As a member of our audit team you will:
- Review, analyze and audit candidate and political committee campaign
Nebraska Political Accountability and Disclosure Act.
- Provide assistance to candidates, political committees, and their

- Conduct inquiries and use investigative methods to reconcile reporting

- Work with the General Counsel for investigation when campaign violations
- Review transactions for accuracy within the database system performing
- Assist with updating campaign finance brochures and guides.
- Periodically assist with accounting functions for internal control purposes
- Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by the Senior Auditor or the

Hiring Rate:
Pay range is $22.975 - $33.867 per hour. The pay rate may be commensurate with education and/or experience within fiscal constraints, if approved.
Requirements/Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in business administration or accounting (see also Legal Requirements).
Legal Requirements: Positions in this classification are subject to Title 42, Nebraska Administrative Code, Chapter 1 – Minimum Standards for Government Employees Identified as Auditors. The basic requirement is a Bachelor’s degree in business administration or the equivalent, with at least 24 semester hours of accounting or auditing. Any combination of education with a concentration in accounting and auditing experience acceptable to the Auditor of Public Accounts, may be substituted for the educational requirements in Section 002.01.
Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience working in auditing or accounting positions.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Possess good attention to detail.
- Possess strong computer skills for using Excel spreadsheets, Microsoft Word, Outlook, and customized software.
- Possess an understanding of computerized or electronic file management and online filing (database systems).
- Possess good analytical and investigative skills.
- Ability to communicate verbally (in person or over the phone) and in writing (letters or emails) with filers, members of the public, and co-workers.
- Ability to process mathematical equations.
- Ability to file a report similar to a tax return.
- Ability to interpret and gain an understanding of our Statutes and Rules.
- Ability to provide guidance regarding our Statutes and rules to candidates, campaign committees, individual and business filers and public officials.
