Larson Automotive Group is looking for a seasoned Automotive Controller to take ownership of our dealership’s accounting operations. You’ll work closely with leadership and department managers, guide a team of administrative professionals, and play a direct role in the financial health of our organization. What You’ll Do
Financial Management & Reporting
- Prepare accurate, timely monthly financial statements in compliance with dealership and manufacturer standards
- Analyze and interpret financial results to support strategic decisions
- Reconcile manufacturer statements, warranty claims, rebates, interest, and co-op accounts
- Ensure floorplan payments are timely, and accounts are accurately reconciled
- Calculate and file sales tax and financial incentive (FI) submissions monthly
- Monitor contracts in transit and vehicle receivables to support cash flow
- Oversee petty cash and manufacturer financial accounts
- Provide financial reporting support to department managers
General Ledger & Compliance
- Manage the general ledger and schedules, investigating and resolving anomalies
- Train and support staff in reconciliation and schedule maintenance
- Monitor monthly schedules for accuracy and internal compliance
Leadership & Team Oversight
- Lead a team of 20–22 administrative professionals, alongside three additional supervisors
- Guide hiring, training, and performance management in alignment with company goals
- Promote a culture of accountability, professionalism, and mutual respect
What You Bring
- Proven experience in retail automotive dealership accounting leadership
- Deep understanding of manufacturer reporting requirements and dealership operations
- Strong command of financial reporting, compliance, and reconciliation
- Natural leadership ability—you guide with confidence, not ego
- Clear communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with peers and managers
- Experience with dealership systems is a plus

Requirements
- Prior experience in retail automotive dealership accounting management is required.
- Strong understanding of dealership financial statements, general ledger accounting, and manufacturer reporting.
- Experience managing cash flow, floor plan reconciliation, and tax computations.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to train and mentor staff.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in accounting software and dealership management systems (DMS).
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
