Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Automotive Service Director to lead our service department. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in automotive repair and sales, with a proven track record of managing a team and driving service excellence. This role is pivotal in ensuring customer satisfaction, operational efficiency, and the overall success of our service operations.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations of the service department, ensuring high-quality automotive repair and maintenance services.
- Manage and mentor a team of technicians, service writers, and support staff to achieve performance goals.
- Implement effective service writing practices to enhance communication with customers regarding their vehicle needs.
- Drive sales initiatives within the service department to maximize revenue opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies while maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
- Collaborate with other departments to streamline processes and improve customer experience.
- Monitor service department performance metrics and develop strategies for continuous improvement.
- Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to automotive repair.
Requirements
- Proven experience in automotive repair, with a strong understanding of gasoline engine, hybrid systems, alignments, diesel engine repair, brake repair, engine performance, and general automotive maintenance. Required experience 10 years +
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team effectively.
- Strong sales acumen with experience in automotive sales preferred.
- Proficient in service writing and customer communication skills to ensure clarity in service recommendations.
- Ability to transmit technical information clearly to both customers and team members.
- A valid driver's license is required; additional certifications related to automotive repair are a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail are essential for success in this role.
