Ballet & Creative Movement Instructor (Pre-K – 2nd Grade + Assessment-Based Ballet)

We are looking for a warm, experienced Ballet and Creative Movement Instructor who teaches from an anatomically sound perspective and thrives in a Christ-centered environment. This position is with Woodland Fine Arts Academy (WFA), a ministry of Woodland Community Church, where we lead with professionalism, Christlikeness, and care for our students.
TUESDAY CLASSES:
- Pre-K Ballet & Creative Movement (Ages 3–5) | 4:30–5:15 PM
- K–2nd Grade Ballet & Creative Movement | 5:30–6:15 PM
- Level 3 Ballet (Assessment-Based Elementary) | 6:30–7:25 PM
We are seeking an instructor who is passionate about helping young dancers develop foundational technique, confidence, joy, and creativity through ballet and creative movement. This person will be responsible for creating developmentally appropriate, engaging classes that support physical, emotional, and spiritual growth.
The ideal candidate will have experience as a dancer and teacher/choreographer, especially with younger children and elementary-aged students. They should also be motivated to foster community and collaborate with other instructors while contributing to a vibrant and supportive faith-based environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Teach with love and intentionality in a Christ-centered environment.
- Provide age-appropriate instruction focused on dance fundamentals, vocabulary, form, and expression.
- Work closely with the Director of Dance to support students technically, socially, and spiritually.
- Build classroom culture that encourages creativity, participation, and personal growth.
- Use warm-ups, creative exercises, and choreography to help students progress toward developmentally appropriate benchmarks.
- Adapt instruction to accommodate students with varying levels of experience and confidence.
- Support performance opportunities with original choreography or adaptations.
- Maintain clear and open communication with families and staff.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience teaching ballet and creative movement, specifically with young children.
- Strong understanding of child development and creative engagement for early learners.
- Ability to build trusting relationships with students and families.
- Comfortable teaching in alignment with Christian values and sharing faith through action and example.
- Aligned with the mission and beliefs of Woodland Fine Arts Academy.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team of passionate arts educators.
