POSITION DESCRIPTION
Position Title: Houseperson Reports To: Banquet Captain
Department: Banquets Date: May 2025
Position Summary:
Responsible for the placement, service, maintenance and breakdown of physical sets in the banquet areas.
Supervision Received:
Supervision is received from the Banquet Captain.
Essential Functions:
- Place equipment and other items in set up of equipment, service and arrangement of the set.
- Ensure placement of all decorations for the assigned function areas.
- Ensure service areas and storage areas are clean, maintained in proper working order.
- Set up, service and break down functions as assigned.
- Maintains a clean, well organized and safe work area.
- Ensures equipment is in proper working order.
- Ensures that all doors and equipment are locked securely, everything is turned off and keys are returned.
- Report all unsafe conditions immediately.
- Complies with all policies and procedures set forth by the Columbia Gorge hotel & Spa Employee Handbook.
Secondary Functions:
- Performs all other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Food Handler’s Card.
- Ability to work with a minimum of supervision.
- Ability to stand and/or walk for entire shift.
- Ability to lift and carry items up to 50 lbs.
- Knowledge of complete table setting.
- Ability to maintain a professional appearance at all times.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to read and follow both verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure.
