Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Barista to join our team in creating exceptional coffee experiences for our customers. As a Barista, you will play a vital role in our café, preparing and serving high-quality beverages, selling gourmet popsicles, while providing outstanding customer service. Your knowledge of coffee and food safety will ensure that every cup meets our standards of excellence.
Duties
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and other menu items with precision and care.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café, including workstations, equipment, and dining areas.
- Operate the cash register and handle cash transactions accurately, ensuring proper cash handling procedures are followed.
- Assist customers with their orders, providing recommendations and answering questions about menu items.
- Follow food safety guidelines and ensure compliance with health regulations in all aspects of food handling.
- Monitor inventory levels of coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other supplies; assist in restocking as needed.
- Engage with customers to create a welcoming atmosphere while promoting café sales and specials.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a café or food service environment is preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong knowledge of coffee brewing techniques and beverage preparation is a plus.
- Familiarity with POS systems and cash register operations is beneficial.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse clientele.
- Basic understanding of retail math to assist with inventory management and sales tracking.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Must possess strong food safety knowledge and adhere to all health regulations related to food handling.
