Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Barista to join our team. As a Barista, you will play a vital role in creating an exceptional experience for our customers by crafting high-quality food and beverages and providing outstanding service. You will be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized workspace while ensuring that all food safety and handling standards are met.
Duties
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, other specialty drinks, breakfast, lunch, and pastries to established recipe standards.
- Operate coffee brewing equipment and maintain cleanliness of all equipment used including the food station and food prep.
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers warmly and taking their orders accurately at the register.
- Handle cash transactions and operate the Square POS system efficiently.
- Maintain inventory levels of coffee beans, syrups, pastries, and other supplies; assist in restocking as needed.
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards and proper food handling procedures.
- Assist in training new staff members on beverage preparation and customer service techniques.
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and well-stocked throughout the shift.
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service.
- Must be able to work weekends.
- Strong math skills for handling cash transactions and basic retail math calculations.
- Knowledge of coffee preparation techniques.
- Familiarity with Square POS system or similar point-of-sale systems.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills with a friendly demeanor towards customers and team members.
- Understanding of food safety regulations and practices is essential.
- Must be able to stand for long periods and lift up to 30 pounds as needed.
