As a Barista, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service while preparing high-quality beverages and food items. Your expertise in the food service industry will help create a welcoming atmosphere for our customers, ensuring they enjoy their experience at our café.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and tea beverages, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Operate the POS system efficiently to process customer orders and handle cash transactions.
- Assist in food preparation, including pastries and light snacks, adhering to food handling safety standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, including equipment and workstations.
- Engage with customers, providing recommendations and answering questions about menu items.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during peak hours.
- Monitor inventory levels of coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other supplies; communicate needs to management.
- Uphold café standards for quality, hygiene, and customer service at all times.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of food service practices and food handling procedures.
- Proficiency in operating cash registers and POS systems.
- Basic math skills for accurate cash handling and retail math calculations.
- Excellent communication skills with a friendly demeanor to engage with customers effectively.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Experience in the food industry or café setting is preferred but not required.
- A willingness to learn new techniques related to beverage preparation and customer service.
