Join our team as a Barista in our hotel Grab and Go Cafe and be a vital part of our café's success. As a Grab and Go Barista, you will be responsible for preparing and serving "We Proudly Serve" Starbucks coffees and beverages, along with hot and cold food options, to our guests. This role requires someone with a passion for coffee and hospitality, exceptional customer service skills, impeccable reliability, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced hotel environment.
This is an early morning position that may have shift start times as early as 5:00am.
Current operating hours for the Grab and Go Cafe are 6:00am - 2:00pm but are subject to change with or without notice.
Duties:
- Must be committed and reliable to show up on time for scheduled shifts
- Ability to work an early morning shift
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks and beverages according to established recipes
- Provide recommendations and upsell coffee and other beverages along with our Grab and Go food selections
- Utilize a TurboChef oven to prepare hot food items
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, taking orders, and addressing any inquiries or concerns
- Operate MICROS POS and handle cash/credit transactions accurately
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, including brewing equipment, TurboChef, and serving counters
- Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure smooth operations during peak hours
- Uphold food safety standards and regulations at all times
- Assist throughout department as needed or as instructed by F&B Management
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in cafe is required. Starbucks/We Proudly Serve brand experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of food handling procedures and practices
- Proficiency in using MICROS Simphony and handling cash transactions
- Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively
- Passion for coffee and providing exceptional service to customers
- Ability to work well under pressure in a busy environment
- Must have a valid San Bernardino County Food Handler's card or the willingness to obtain one within 14 days of employment
