The Basics:
We are looking for a Barista/Front of House Server to prepare and serve hot and cold beverages, take orders for food, run orders to tables and provide excellent customer service. This is a long term position, a temporary or summer position.
Barista/FOH responsibilities include educating customers on our menus, making recommendations based on their preferences, up-selling special items and taking orders. Note: this position’s compensation includes hourly pay and tips (the listed rate is based on our current staff's earnings).
Ultimately, you’ll ensure an excellent experience for our guests. Shifts will be within the hours of Monday-Friday 6:30a-4:30p and Saturdays 7:30a-4:30p. Training will be provided.
Responsibilities
- Open or close the store following internal procedures
- Greet customers as they enter
- Give customers menus and answer their questions regarding ingredients
- Take orders while paying attention to details (e.g. preferences, dietary restrictions, allergies)
- Prepare beverages following recipes
- Serve beverages and prepared food
- Receive and process payments (cash and credit cards)
- Keep the bar area clean
- Maintain stock of clean mugs, plates & utensils
- Check if equipment operates properly and report any maintenance needs
- Comply with health and safety regulations
- Communicate customer feedback to managers and recommend new menu items
Requirements:
- A genuine smile and sense of humor

- Basic math skills
- Ability to gauge customers’ preferences
- Must have reliable transportation
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Working knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Must have or get Food Handler & TABC Certifications
- Previous work experience as a Barista or Waiter/Waitress is a plus
