Position Title: Barn Facilities & Grounds Maintenance Technician

Position Overview
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Barn Facilities Maintenance Technician to support daily operations at our small horse ranch. This role is hands-on and essential to maintaining a safe, clean, and well-functioning environment for our horses, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate has experience working around horses, enjoys outdoor work, and takes pride in keeping facilities in top condition.
Key Responsibilities
- Stall Care & Barn Cleanliness
- Perform daily stall cleaning, including removing soiled bedding, replacing fresh shavings, and ensuring horses have a clean, safe living space (commonly referred to as “mucking stalls”).
- Maintain aisles, tack rooms, wash racks, and other barn areas to a high standard of cleanliness.
- Horse Care Support
- Assist with feeding, watering, and basic horse care as directed.
- Monitor horse behavior and well-being during chores, reporting any concerns promptly.
- Facilities & Grounds Maintenance
- Perform routine maintenance of fences, gates, water troughs, and equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness and removing debris.
- Conduct minor repairs and assist with seasonal upkeep of ranch facilities.
- Safety & Efficiency
- Follow established safety procedures for working around horses and equipment.
- Report maintenance issues or hazards promptly to management.
Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a barn, ranch, or agricultural setting preferred.
- Comfortable handling and working around horses in a safe, confident manner.
- Basic knowledge of maintenance tools and equipment.
- Strong work ethic with ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs and working in various weather conditions.
Schedule & Compensation
- Flexible scheduling available (weekends and holidays may be required).
- Compensation based on experience.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
