Prism is a compassionate, neurodiversity‑affirming ABA agency based in Kenner and serving New Orleans and Jefferson Parishes. Led by BCBA Nisha Ranshi, we provide trauma‑informed, intersectional, person‑centered Applied Behavior Analysis shaped by Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Relational Frame Theory (RFT). Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Behavior Technician to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with individuals with developmental disabilities and a variety of behavioral support needs, providing essential support and implementing therapeutic interventions. Your primary goal will be to enhance the quality of life for clients through effective techniques taught and modeled by the BCBA. A 40-hour paid training through The Happy Medium will be provided. https://www.happymediumapproach.com/
Duties
- Implement individualized behavior intervention plans under the supervision of a BCBA.
- Provide direct support to clients, assisting them in daily activities and promoting independence.
- Collect and record data on client progress, behaviors, and responses to interventions.
- Assist in the treatment plan process by observing and documenting client behaviors.
- Maintain accurate medical records and ensure confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and adjust treatment plans based on client needs.
- Engage with clients in a compassionate manner, fostering a supportive environment that encourages growth and development.
Qualifications
- Experience working with children or individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.
- Ability to collect and analyze data effectively to monitor client progress.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with clients, families, and team members.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
- Must be able to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated.
- Be able to pass a background check that allows you to work within a school setting
Additional benefits will include on going neuro-affirming training and supervision by one of our qualified BCBAs, along with possible indirect hours if applicant is seeking certification. Additionally, Prism holds monthly staff trainings/meetings to support staff.
