JOB SUMMARY: The Behavioral Health Program Manager will manage grant programs with deliverables surrounding behavioral health and trauma informed care; They will identify and monitor organizational training needs, then design, plan, and implement comprehensive training programs, policies, and procedures for behavioral health and trauma informed care, as well as provide support and counseling resources to youth and families across all Clubhouse locations in Alaska. These initiatives will focus on delivering evidence-based behavioral health and trauma-informed training and services to all Boys & Girls Clubs of Southcentral Alaska staff. The goal is to equip Boys & Girls Clubs of Southcentral Alaska staff with the knowledge and skills necessary to foster trauma-informed environments and support mental and emotional well-being.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES

Assessment

• Meet with parent/guardians or youth to assess needs, develop an action plan, make referrals to appropriate social service providers and provide ongoing coaching/mentoring and case management supports.
• Formulate actionable recommendations based on assessment findings.

Planning & Implementation

• Develop an organization-centered training plan with measurable goals.
• Provide organizational evidence-based modalities for behavioral health and trauma informed training. 

Management & Coordination

• Engage and interact with youth through club and planned recreational activities
• Implement and coordinate organization-wide training programs and manage corresponding measurements and compliance initiatives. 
• Collaborate with staff to plan and coordinate monthly, quarterly, and annual training curricula. 

Professional Development

• Actively observe the behavioral health of youth in all club locations and identify training opportunities that would improve the supervision/interaction from staff. 
• Engaging in continuous professional development and training to stay current with best practices in the field.
• Adhering to ethical guidelines and professional standards.

Documentation & Compliance

• Follow mandatory reporting laws with any and all incidents of harm within 24 hours. 
• Implement positive guidance and discipline strategies to promote a culture of trauma informed environments.
• Training and leading with behavioral and trauma informed care calmly and effectively, using conflict resolution and de-escalation techniques.

Communication and Collaboration

• Communicate regularly with staff to provide updates on program activities and upcoming events
• Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices, brainstorm ideas, and support each other in achieving organizational goals
• Plans, coordinates, and implements curriculum- or non-curriculum-based group-level culturally competent trauma-informed programs using the Positive Youth Development, among other models, as the theoretical basis for programming.

MINIMUM EDUCATION QUALIFICATION

• Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or related field
   

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATION

• One (1) years of experience in a behavioral health, trauma informed or related setting.
• Three (3) years of experience in training. 
• Non-profit program management experience preferred.

 MINIMUM CERTIFICATION QUALIFICATION

• Employees will be trained in First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) to respond effectively to medical emergencies or injuries that may occur during program activities. It is the responsibility of the employee to achieve and maintain the First Aid and CPR certification.
• Employees will be assigned Boys & Girls Clubs of America Spillett trainings annually. It is the responsibility of the employee to complete the Spillett trainings when assigned.
• Employees must complete the State of Alaska, Department of Health & Social Services, Mandatory Child Abuse Reporter Training at time of hire. It is the responsibility of the employee to complete the Mandatory Child Abuse Reporter Training annually.

• Must be able to repetitively lift approximately forty (40) pounds to perform the daily functions of the job and maintain child safety.
