Key Responsibilities
- Update demographics, patient forms, insurance, and other aspects of registration in Electronic Medical Record
- Perform check-in and check-out for patients efficiently
- Provide all necessary forms to patients upon check-in
- Perform scanning of records into EMR on a daily basis
- Maintain appointment schedules for providers
- Complete primary provider request form for insurance updating
- Maintain competency in the process for Immigration Physical completion
- Assist with Sliding Fee Discount application when necessary and provide to eligible patients
- Screen patient phone calls for medical assistants and providers
- Manage requests from both paper and electronic in-baskets
- Verify patient insurance information
- Troubleshoot insurance problems with patients
- Proficiency in CHAMPS portal
- Perform patient callbacks/follow up as directed by providers
- Occasionally interpreting for providers and support staff as needed for patient care
- Miscellaneous tasks as assigned by Office Manager and Medical Director
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma
- Experience: Experience in a receptionist position or medical office required
- Required Licenses, Certifications, and Training: HIPAA, EMR, other training required by CRFHC.

Work Environment & Physical Demands
- This position is on-site and may not be eligible for remote work
- The role involves working with sensitive or potentially traumatic information and direct interaction with individuals or families in crisis
- Physical requirements include frequent use of hands for handling objects, tools, or controls; talking, bending, reaching, and occasionally lifting or carrying up to 15 pounds
- Vision requirements include close-up work, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus
- The work environment may involve varying degrees of physical discomfort, occasional loud noise, and exposure to common respiratory pathogens
- Occasional driving during the workday may be needed for operational purposes
