Job DescriptionProvide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in the core academic subject area assigned to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society and live a good life with others.
Knowledge and Skills- Knowledge of assigned subject area - Biology
- Knowledge of core academic subject assigned
- General knowledge of curriculum, instruction, and assessment
- Ability to instruct students and manage classroom behaviors
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Bachelors degree from an accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or required training for subject and level assigned
- Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
- At least two years of teaching experience in specific content area is preferred
- Experience with the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program preferred, but not required
This position will operate in a professional, non-smoking office environment, which at times can be busy with moderate noise and many unscheduled interruptions. This role will routinely use standard office equipment such as computers and peripherals, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and Promethean boards.
