Summary:
This position is responsible for maintaining general patient care equipment. The ideal candidate will have specialized training in one or more modalities such as surgical equipment, or respiratory. This role can also mentor junior technicians but is not a direct supervisor.
What you will do:
  • Assemble, repair, and maintain patient care equipment according to their specifications
  • Manage the facility’s scheduled maintenance program
  • Document all activities in Renovo’s proprietary system (RenovoLive)
  • Maintain departmental performance standards and goals
  • Support cost containment under the direction of a supervisor or manager
  • Provide mentoring and training to BMETs and apprentices
  • Adhere to KPI targets related to task execution and support the team in achieving KPIs consistently
  • Comply with Renovo and hospital policies
Qualifications:
  • At least 3 years of experience as a biomedical technician
  • Proficient with electromechanical devices and principals
  • Demonstrates competency and can work with little supervision when completing scheduled maintenance and minor repairs of general patient care equipment
  • Understanding of high risk and diagnostic support devices and their usage within the healthcare setting
  • Requirement: need to pass a background check and drug screening
Education/Special Training:
  • H.S. Diploma or equivalent required
  • College Degree, Technical Certification, or other higher level of education pertaining to this job description preferred
  • CBET or similar certification preferred

Safety Requirements:
  • Abide and follow our Injury & Illness Prevention Program and Covid-19 Prevention Program
  • Maintain a safe working environment for self and others if they come in contact within the biomed area in accordance with the facility’s policies
  • Must follow OSHA guidelines in regard to blood borne pathogens, airborne pathogens, radiation, sharp instruments and/or tools, hazardous liquids, and operating devices
  • On-time completion of safety trainings assignments
  • Must have sensory ability to distinguish hot & cold ranges of temperature, surfaces, fine motor skills, manual dexterity, and detect/distinguish colors
  • Must be able be able to carry or lift up to 50 pounds routinely
Travel Requirements:
  • This position is not required to travel

Working Conditions:
  • Hospital environment
  • Must abide by the safety rules of the host site
