Catlin Gabel School is seeking dependable and safety-minded School Bus Drivers to join our close-knit transportation team. This position is responsible for safely transporting students to and from school on established morning and afternoon routes during the academic year, averaging approximately 20 hours per week. Additional opportunities for extracurricular trips, sports events, and charter work are also available.
As a Catlin Gabel driver, you will play a key role in ensuring the safe, timely, and respectful transportation of students for daily routes, field trips, and school-sponsored activities. This position requires strict adherence to all traffic laws, safety procedures, and school policies while fostering a positive and welcoming environment for students.

Pay Rate: $30-$33/hour
**FTE: 0.5 FTE, 25 hours/week, 10 month
Job Responsibilities:
- Drive assigned morning and afternoon bus routes on school days.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of school bus
- Load and unload students at designated route bus stops and/or campus areas.
- Return bus to assigned parking areas.
- Maintain clean conditions in the interior of the bus. Clean all surfaces after each use.
- Operate vehicles in accordance with all applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, and in compliance with all Catlin Gabel school policies.
- Always maintain order and safety among riders on the bus.
- Report all vehicle performance issues to the bus mechanic promptly and consult with bus mechanic for resolution.
- Maintain a current Commercial Driver’s License, endorsements, school bus driver certification, and first aid card at all times.
- Attend all scheduled driver meetings and participate in training sessions offered by the school (as needed).
- Complete required school training annually (CPR, first aid, etc.)
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED required.
- One year of experience driving school buses in city traffic.
- A current Oregon Commercial Driver’s License with no more than two (2) convictions is required. Convictions are consistent with ODE laws and regulations.
- Valid Oregon CDL with Air Brake, Passenger, “S” endorsements, and ODE certified.
- Have the required number of training hours on record with the ODE.
- Background check and fingerprinting required.
- Drug and alcohol testing as required by the Oregon Board of Education and Federal DOT requirements.
