- Create and maintain driver Qualification files for Colorado Department of Education (CDE) and Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) rules and regulations.
- Develop, maintain and utilize databases containing driver qualification files, training schedules, accident reports, student data and testing records. Develop reports and training schedules from databases to ensure the department is in compliance with federal, state, local laws and regulations
- Supervise Trainers by directing and assigning work, training, and scheduling.
- Prepare and update student management training materials including appropriate training videos, writing student referrals, and documenting incidents.
- Assist the Transportation Director and Driver Supervisors with hiring new Drivers by interviewing applicants. Performs telephone reference checks and review application completeness, work history and motor vehicle record.
- Perform all duties of a Bus Driver including transporting students, completing vehicle safety inspections, maintaining vehicle cleanliness, completing reports, reporting accidents and attending training classes.
- Represent the District at workshops, cross-training sessions, and other programs including teaching and attending CDE workshops.
- Create and maintain entry level and advanced training programs to include lesson plans for Bus Drivers, School Bus Paraprofessionals, and Trainers.
- Maintain accurate training records for all Drivers, School Bus Paraprofessionals and other staff.
- Provide instruction to Bus Drivers and other District personnel on federal, state and local laws and regulations and District policies pertaining to pupil transportation vehicles, passenger safety, behavior management and discipline.
- Implement procedures for training needs assessment and training curriculum development by hosting periodic group in-services, performing individualized training, and creating videos and publications.
- Coordinate and evaluate training activities for all Drivers, School Bus Paraprofessionals, Mechanics and other Transportation personnel.
- Provide instruction and recertification of First Aid and CPR, Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI), school bus emergency procedures, driving performance and pre-trip inspections by teaching classes, observing employees, testing compliance, and gathering information from Drivers and Trainers.
- Develop, organize and implement driving and paraprofessionals training course and curriculum for in-service safety workshops.
- Assist the Transportation Director, Driver Supervisors, and Fleet Manager with the investigation of all accidents involving District vehicles by following District and department policies and procedures.

Position
Responsible for coordinating, conducting, scheduling and developing certification and training for all Transportation personnel and users of District vehicles; maintain certifications files, selects training, resources, and assesses training needs; also responsible for supervising the Bus Driver Trainers including interviewing, hiring, directing work, assigning work and assisting with evaluations and fulfilling all responsibilities of a Bus Driver and School Bus Paraprofessionals.
Essential Duties
Pay is a Grade 9 and starts at $28.27 per hour. Experience pay considered.
