This Business Development Manager is responsible for marketing the portfolio of Zimpro wastewater treatment technologies worldwide, identifying and obtaining new business for Zimpro related technologies, other technologies within the Lummus portfolio, developing long-term customer relationships, maintenance of alliances and partnerships and promoting our products and services.
This Business Development Manager is responsible for marketing the portfolio of Zimpro wastewater treatment technologies worldwide, identifying and obtaining new business for Zimpro related technologies, other technologies within the Lummus portfolio, developing long-term customer relationships, maintenance of alliances and partnerships and promoting our products and services.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and develop new business opportunities including proactive involvement in the sales/pricing strategy and leading the business risk analysis
- Serve as the commercial liaison between the Technology operating groups and the prospective client and maintain consistent contact with these key client representatives
- Develop and negotiate licensing, engineering and equipment supply agreements
- Assist in the development of the required proposal documents
- Work internally across the functions of the organization to develop and gain approval for the negotiated position
- Work within the organization to ensure awarded projects are on-track including following project management activities as well as ensuring licensee payments are made per contract
- Carry out sales forecasting and gather competitive intelligence and provide market feedback and technology requirements to technology managers
- Establish strong relationships with regional sales representatives and other business groups
- In consultation with other team members, decide on the sales strategy for individual proposals
- Assist in developing/implementing growth strategies for the business group
- Assist in the implementation of the marketing plan for innovative sales approach
- Coordinate proposal risk analysis and present overall Risk Review to management
- Prepare commercial offers and give client presentations for technology sales
- Closely review contract terms and conditions and coordinate reviews with the legal and financial department
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- Minimum of an engineering degree; MBA is a plus
- At least 5 years of experience in process design and/or general technology, and marketing/licensing sales
- Background in Technology licensing a plus
- General knowledge of water and/or wastewater treatment market, equipment, process, and/or market a plus.
- Strong balance of technical and commercial capabilities, with proven business development, sales, and contract negotiation experience
- Excellent written and oral communication skills; strong presentation and professional image
- Commercially savvy with the ability to evaluate and prioritize new business opportunities based on timing, feasibility, and profitability
- High degree of self-motivation and energy; capable of earning respect and influencing others
- Strong understanding of various cultures and international business styles
