At Hill Bros Logistics, we’re on a mission to keep freight moving with purpose. We’re hiring a Business Development Manager to help expand our Bulk division—a fast-paced, high-touch environment where specialized knowledge matters.

POSITION SUMMARY

This remote role is ideal for a self-starter with experience in bulk freight sales. We’re looking for someone who understands the unique challenges and opportunities in bulk logistics—from equipment needs to market fluctuations—and can bring strategic solutions to shippers who move more than just pallets.

What You’ll Do:

  • Identify, prospect, and qualify new bulk freight opportunities.
  • Use a consultative sales approach to understand complex shipping needs and tailor solutions.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure onboarding, capacity coverage, and flawless execution.
  • Build SOPs that clearly define customer expectations and ensure service consistency.
  • Monitor trends in the bulk market, track profitability, and support pricing strategy.
  • Contribute to bid packages and develop competitive, value-based proposals.
  • Maintain and manage opportunity pipelines within TMW and CRM systems.
  • Serve as the customer’s advocate internally to troubleshoot issues and deliver results.
Requirements:

What We’re Looking For:

  • A bulk freight expert who understands that not all freight is created equal.
  • A strategic, consultative salesperson with experience selling to shippers in agriculture, chemicals, construction, or related bulk markets.
  • Resilient in the face of “no” and energized by the next “yes.”
  • Naturally collaborative and proactive in solving problems across teams.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience & Skills:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in transportation or logistics sales, with a strong preference for bulk freight or specialized commodities.
  • Familiarity with the nuances of bulk freight, including equipment types, loading methods, and market dynamics.
  • Experience with freight brokerage or 3PL operations a plus.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office; TMW Innovative experience helpful.

  • Owns their pipeline, delivers results, and builds lasting relationships.
  • Understands customer goals and translates them into actionable solutions.
  • Organized, diligent, and confident in navigating bulk logistics challenges.

Education:

  • High school diploma required; further education or relevant certifications preferred.
