Overview
Business Manager - Capital Risk OversightAs a Manager Business Analysis in Capital Risk Oversight (CapRO), you will apply your strategic and analytical skills to review and challenge the credit loss forecasts for our various lines of consumer business that inform the Company’s quarterly allowance and annual stress testing estimates. And you will do it all in a collaborative environment that values your insight, encourages you to take on new responsibility, promotes continuous learning, and rewards innovation.
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Analysis: Identify explicit and implicit assumptions, limitations and weaknesses of credit loss estimation frameworks and independently raise conceptual or tactical challenges to pressure test the appropriateness of the loss projections
Managing Credit Risk: Support step-change improvements in credit loss estimation frameworks by connecting drivers of future consumer credit trends to historical behavior, creating risk models, and testing hypotheses using rigorous monitoring and analysis
Execution: Help to develop, enhance and implement sustainable processes to identify, communicate, and document challenges to the loss estimation approaches and their resolution
Partnership: Work closely with colleagues across Capital One Credit Risk Management, Finance and other teams to drive effective oversight of loss forecasts
Strategic & analytic orientation: A proven track record of problem solving based on analytics. Conceptual thinking skills must be complemented by a strong quantitative orientation, given that a large part of the role is based on rigorous analytic credit risk management
Strong judgment, leadership and integrity: Be able to prioritize among competing priorities while bringing a healthy, diligent, yet empathetic approach to the oversight function
Strong communication skills: Great written and oral communication credentials, coupled with strategic influencing skills and the ability to drive agreement through intellect, interpersonal and negotiation skills
Clear results orientation: Display an intense focus on achieving both short and long term goals. He/she should be able to drive and execute an agenda in an uncertain and fluid environment
Leadership: Being able to lead efforts driving in depth analysis, deriving and sharing insightful takeaways, and developing impactful credit challenges
Successful track record of thriving in a fast paced, and dynamic environment.
BasicQualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in any quantitative field (Business, Math, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Science, Engineering)
At least 2 years of experience in analysis
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in Business or quantitative field such as Finance, Economics, Physical Sciences, Math, Statistics, Engineering
3+ years of experience in business analysis
2+ years of experience in consumer lending business
2+ years of experience in SQL querying
1+ years of experience in loss forecasting processes
1+ years of experience in people management

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
McLean, VA: $158,400 - $180,800 for Business Manager
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.
