Job Summary: Karin’s Florist, a beloved floral destination since 1956, is seeking a Sales Associate & Floral Buyer to join our vibrant team. This unique hybrid role blends the art of sourcing premium flowers and hard goods with the customer-focused energy of retail sales. ESSENTIAL SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Purchasing and Inventory Management

• Source and purchase fresh flowers and hard goods while maintaining established cost-of-goods targets.
• Research and introduce new floral varieties and products to keep offerings fresh and exciting, presenting recommendations to leadership.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with wholesalers and growers; negotiate competitive pricing to secure quality and value.
• Conduct price comparisons and competitive bids for flowers and standard hard goods from approved vendors.
• Recommend specialty hard goods selections to the leadership team to enhance product variety.
• Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure timely restocking, minimize waste, and optimize profitability.
• Collaborate with the team on weddings, events, and seasonal campaigns to ensure quality and consistency.

Retail Sales & Customer Service

• Provide exceptional service by welcoming customers, understanding their needs, and helping them select flowers, gifts, and décor.
• Stay informed on floral trends, design styles, and product offerings to make creative, knowledgeable recommendations.
• Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently to ensure a seamless shopping experience.
• Assist with the creation and maintenance of engaging displays to showcase seasonal and promotional items.
Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing retail space.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Proven experience in floral buying, retail sales, or a related field.
• Strong organization and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage budgets and maintain cost of goods within established targets.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• A keen eye for detail and a passion for floral design and quality
• Familiarity with wholesale flower markets and suppliers is preferred.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule to include Saturdays, and holidays are required.
