Summary
The Program Support Specialist is a 30-hour-per-week full-time position. This person maintains all responsibilities of the store during all teacher shopping events at Crayons to Classrooms (C2C). This position is a secondary point of contact with teachers and other school personnel associated with the schools served by C2C. This person also manages store volunteers during shopping events.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
As a member of the C2C staff, the Program Support Specialist will be responsible for the following:
1. Participates in monthly staff meetings convened by the Executive Director.
2. Successful interaction with the Director of Programs, Director of Operations/Assistant Operations Manager, Volunteer Coordinator and Program Coordinator.
3. Participates in an annual performance development plan to review progress in the position as required by the Executive Director.

Key Position Responsibilities:
1. Prepare the store for shopping events, including printing shopping forms, printing teacher homework, setting up the sound system, and keeping the store presentable for shopping.
2. Oversee teacher shopping hours during designated shopping hours on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings until approximately 6:30 PM, and 1-2 Saturday mornings a month (Aug-Nov, Jan-May).
3. Advise store volunteers during shopping as needed, along with the volunteer coordinator.
4. Provide on-site assistance during shopping to ensure a smooth and efficient shopping experience for teachers, answering questions and addressing any issues that arise.
5. Manage conflicts and scheduling issues for teachers when they arise during shopping.
6. Assist the operations team with capacity planning activities, including analysis of shopping trends to identify space for new products.
7. Support the volunteer coordinator in training, managing, and supporting new and returning store volunteers.
8. Contribute to C2C’s monthly report card, utilizing AppleBase as well as Microsoft Excel and Word.
9. Monitor and analyze teacher shopping trip data to determine significant shopping trends and to improve the quality of merchandise in C2C store.
10. Collaborate with the operations team to maintain an attractive shopping environment in the store, which includes but is not limited to signage, displays, and overall general appearance.
11. Provide input for a monthly C2C or teacher newsletter regarding updates on teacher shopping, new products, and other store information.
12. Work with the Director of Programs and Operations Manager to ensure shopping and distribution goals are met.
13. Provide support for other activities, as needed.

Line of Communication and Accountability:
The Program Support Specialist reports to the Director of Programs. He/she works closely with the Director of Operations to coordinate inventory and develop solutions to meet the needs of teachers and schools. The Program Support Specialist, in conjunction with the Director of Programs, is the primary C2C contact person for local school personnel during teacher shopping events.

Education Requirements

A BA or BS in a related field, including marketing, retail management, education, or business administration, is preferred. Three to five years' experience in the business or education field is highly desirable, with an additional three to five years’ experience in not-for-profit management or a community service setting.

Experience Requirements
The position also requires three to five years’ experience commensurate with job responsibilities.

The employee must maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record acceptable to Goodwill's liability insurance provider. Must maintain the ability to pass a criminal background check and random drug screens.

Skills & Abilities

3. Knowledge of customer service including handling customer complaints and resolving disputes
4. Written and verbal communications skills
5. Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word and Outlook
6. Technology skills related to spreadsheet development, data analysis, and technical presentations
7. Comfortable working with Google Drive
8. Database experience a plus.
9. Ability to learn quickly and take initiative with limited direction.

Performance Standards - Evaluation/Review Process

The success of the Program Support Specialist will be judged against the following performance standards:
1. In partnership with the Director of Programs, meeting store visitation and distribution goals for participating schools and teachers.
2. Reaching other specific performance goals negotiated with the Director of Programs on an annual basis.

Evaluation/Review Process:
The Program Support Specialist participates in an annual performance development plan, reviewing his/her goals with the Director of Programs on an annual basis. Decisions of compensation are ordinarily reviewed annually.
