We are currently seeking applicants with the following qualifications that can train with, help guide, and grow a solid set of CAD technicians performing the subsequent disciplines. Someone committed to ensuring the production of quality drawings and plans. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, technical knowledge, and a commitment to upholding industry standards. This Millwork Drafter will collaborate with engineering, project management, and production teams to ensure that all drafted materials meet project specifications, deadlines, and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate with project stakeholders to clarify design, build, and install requirements to resolve technical issues.
- Collaborate with project managers and other departments to ensure smooth coordination and communication throughout the project lifecycle.
- Resolve any issues related to design discrepancies, drafting errors, or conflicts with other departments.
- Review and approve technical drawings, plans, and schematics created by drafters, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to project specifications and industry standards.
- Conduct quality control checks on all completed drawings and plans to ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, and regulations.
- Maintain drafting standards, procedures, and best practices to ensure consistency and quality across all projects.
- Stay up-to-date with advancements in drafting software, technologies, and industry trends to enhance team efficiency and capability.
- Lead a team of drafters, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure the efficient and accurate execution of drafting tasks.
- Train and mentor junior drafting staff, fostering professional development and maintaining a high level of skill within the team.
- Manage workload distribution within assigned team to ensure timely completion of drafting assignments.
- Monitor and enforce adherence to project schedules and budgets.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a builder or installer in the industry with knowledge of material and real-world constraints.
- Proven experience as a Drafter or CAD Technician, with at least 3-5 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Proficiency in drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Microvellum, etc.).
- Strong understanding of construction drawings and industry standards.
- Knowledge of building codes, regulations, and safety standards as applicable to drafting and design.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work on time.
- Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
- Experience with 3D modeling and visualization software, Microvellum
Work Environment:
- Office with potential site visits as required by project needs.
- Occasional extended hours will be required on occasion to meet project deadlines.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer workstation.
- Ability to conduct site visits, which may require walking, climbing stairs, or traveling to remote locations.
