Job Summary:
As a Cafe Supervisor at Parakeet Cafe, you will play a key role in maintaining the cafe's daily operations and providing excellent customer service. You will assist the General and Assistant Managers in overseeing the staff, managing inventory, and ensuring that our customers have a memorable dining experience.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Supervise Cafe Staff: Lead, train, and motivate cafe staff, including baristas and servers, to provide exceptional service and maintain a positive work environment.
2. Customer Service: Greet and interact with customers, handle customer inquiries and feedback, and resolve any issues or concerns promptly and professionally.
3. Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory levels, place orders with suppliers, and ensure that all cafe supplies, including coffee beans, pastries, and utensils, are well-stocked.
4. Quality Control: Maintain quality control standards for food and beverages, ensuring that all products meet our cafe's high standards.
5. Cash Handling: Oversee cash register operations, handle cash transactions accurately, and reconcile cash drawers at the end of each shift.
6. Health and Safety: Enforce health and safety protocols and hygiene standards to maintain a clean and safe cafe environment for both customers and staff.
7. Training and Development: Provide ongoing training and support to staff, including new hires, to enhance their skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role in the food and beverage industry.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Knowledge of coffee and espresso preparation techniques.
- Basic understanding of inventory management and point-of-sale systems.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Food safety certification (e.g., ServSafe, RBS) is a requirement.
