At the discretion of the overseeing clinical provider, in combination with the Porter Cardiology Practice Manager, the Cardiac Sonographer is responsible for the performance of echocardiograms.
Job Responsibilities
-Maintain echocardiography services in accordance with standards established by the American Society of Echocardiography as well as State and Federal agencies.
-Daily technical operation of the laboratory.
-Working with the Medical Director, medical staff and technical staff to ensure quality patient care.
-Perform echo exams on patients as ordered by physicians with first priority given to trauma and critically ill patients.
-Select proper ultrasound techniques to provide optimum quality ultrasounds.
-Position and instruct patients regarding procedures.
-Copy studies to disc as needed for review.
-Adhere to Porter Hospital and Cardiology Department policies and procedures.
-Performs other duties as assigned.
-Maintain equipment and supplies.
-Maintain required records, documents, and statistics.
-Participate in both in-service and out service professional educational programs.
-Attend cardiology department meeting

Pay: $71,000.00 - $107,000.00 per year
