Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Nursing Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to patients in various settings, including long-term care facilities, hospitals, and pediatric units. This role involves assisting with daily living activities, monitoring patient health, and ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for all patients.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Monitor and record vital signs and report any changes to nursing staff.
- Provide catheter care and assist with mobility and transfers.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation of patient care.
- Support patients in understanding their treatment plans and provide emotional support.
- Assist in the preparation of patients for examinations or procedures.
- Ensure cleanliness and safety in patient areas, adhering to infection control protocols.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to deliver high-quality patient care.
Skills
- Knowledge of medical terminology to effectively communicate with healthcare professionals.
- Experience in long-term care or inpatient settings is preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
- Familiarity with catheter care procedures.
- Ability to handle medical records accurately and confidentially.
- Experience working in pediatrics or specialized units like PICU is a plus.
- Understanding of Durable Medical Equipment (DME) usage is beneficial.
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact compassionately with patients and their families.
