CAREGIVERS needed in the VENICE-NORTH PORT area for WEEKEND shifts

Our agency is expanding in the Venice-North Port area with new clients weekly ... and we need caregivers from the region to care for them. We are looking for people to do WEEKEND shifts – usually 8-12-hour shifts, bur some shorter. You let us know your preferences-we'll try to match the shifts.

About the Clients:
We try to match our caregivers with the specific needs and conditions of each client

• - so that both client and caregiver are comfortable.
• Some of our clients face cognitive challenges such as dementia, or physical challenges such as Parkinson’s.
• Some of our clients remain mostly independent and take care of themselves in the bathroom but need companionship, light housekeeping, laundry help, maybe some cooking.
• Others need significant help with the Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing and toileting. Some are fall risks.

Responsibilities:

• Tending to the safety and comfort of clients with a wide variety of needs. You may need to walk with a client who is a fall risk, or walk alongside if they have a walker, or transfer them into a wheelchair and move them about. You may need to help with bathing and toileting. (We assign according to a caregiver's preferences.)
• Monitoring a client’s condition while providing companionship and emotional support.
• Preparing meals and medication reminders with some clients.
• Doing light housekeeping for clients no longer able to tidy up their homes.
• Accompanying client to appointments or outings as needed.
• Reporting any changes in the client's condition to the care management team.

Requirements:

• Prior experience preferred but training will be provided for those with an empathetic character .
• Compassionate and patient demeanor.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Valid Florida driver's license and a reliable vehicle (with current registration and insurance).
• A “Level II” background clearance. We can guide you in securing this if you do not have it.
• A lack of any felony convictions.

Wage:

• Our starting rate is $19.00/hour. It can vary in the case of a difficult client.
